Daniel Monte, emerging from Toronto’s vibrant music scene, is a dynamic artist, songwriter, and violinist who thrives in the chaos of his eclectic alternative pop genre (Hozier, Imagine Dragons, One Republic). 

After visiting the United Kingdom and listening to the traditional music played in pubs, Monte couldn’t help but notice that the stylistic choices and instrumentation match the traditional Italian music that he grew up hearing, being the son of an Italian immigrant. Monte was inspired to create a song that shined a light on the modern-day ability to share and learn from various cultures. Monte recorded “Same Song” which was released with great reception in early 2025, but there was a second version that Monte decided was important to release as well, “Same Song II”. “The first release was more Celtic leaning, but I felt that the second version encapsulated the blending of cultures more accurately. I think it’s important to share it,” says Monte. Featuring a Neapolitan artist, Daniela Fiorentino, and bagpipes near the end of the song, Monte captures the concept of the song beautifully. The song shares similar characteristics to artists like Stromae, Aurora and Hozier.

With a background as a classically trained violinist, his Italian heritage influence, and his classic rock influences, Monte skillfully blends the rich textures of symphonic elements with the infectious energy of pop-rock, creating exhilarating and memorable musical experiences. He has been fortunate enough to have played festivals and venues internationally (Lilla By Festivalen, Sweden, 2025).
